ans. In St.james hall there was a meeting in fovor of women rights to vote. Just before Shaw began to speak a hostile group who were all socilist of th ant-fabian presuasion entred the room. Shaw knew the man who was leading the group.They came to disrupt the meeting. Inspite of this Shaw made a very powerful speech. The leaderof the hostile group could ot tolerate that he dashed madly to the platform to answer Shaw. His followers thought their leader was leading a chauge instantly stromed the platform brooke up the meeting and reconstithed it with their leader as the chairman.

ans.Shaw remembered that one of his best speeches were delivered at hyde park in heavy rains in which six policeman and the seceratary of the society who asked him to speak where is audience. As policeman were on duty to listen him , he entertaned them for more than an hour. He cpuld still see thier waterproof caps shining in the rain when he shuts his eyes.

ans. Shaw was delivering the speech at town hall of dorer whwn he was challenged by a hired professional agitator form london. shaw immediatel offered to sell him his salary for five pounds.when agitator could not deal even at a penny shaw told him that he must know that he was there at his own expense.

ans. Shaw nwve took paymen for speaking . the provinciual sunday society offered him 10 gunieas fee to give usual sort of lecture but asked him to avoide speaking on contrevorsial topics like religion and politics. He told the society that he lectured on conterversial topics only and the fees was the price of his trid class railway ticket. If the place giving speech his farhe could go at his own expense to avoid embarrasing other lecturers he took fee and retune it to the society as donation. In this way he secured perfect freedome of speech.

ans. Shaw never spoke in public and he knew nothing about public meetings. He was very coward, nervouse and self concious. He wanted to take par in debate without ralising the result of it. He said something in debate and made a fool of himself. He was so ashamed that he took a pledge to join the society, go every week, speak in every debate become a publuc speaker or perish in attempt. he spoke in publick parks at demonstations, anywhere and everywhere in London. he spent his evening in the university collage at the meeting of Shakespeak society and Browning society. He joined bedford debating society. At all these meeting he took part in debates and removed all his nervousness.
he became famous as a socialist orator and he was invited by the radical club ti lecture for one hour on socialism. He first thought of reading a written lecture because he thought that it would be impossible for him to speak for one hour text as he has spoken for 10 miniutes only in debates. He felt writing would be impossibel want of time, so he decided to extomporize the speech.
